Kareem Puranda is the Clinical Director of STCC. He is a Board Certified, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).  He is a natural at helping people work through the delicate and uncomfortable conditions of their life's journey.  Kareem realized his greatest joy came from inspiring underserved youth to be great despite their circumstances. He has experience working with outpatient and residential treatment programs. After consulting several law enforcement colleagues and working several years with adults and adolescents battling addiction and mental health problems, Kareem decided to pursue his own counseling practice. He has vast experience working with multicultural populations. Kareem uses integrative approaches to meet clients where they are.  His philosophy and approach invite clients to think outside the box.  He is an empathic counselor who views every client with an unconditional positive regard. His commitment and sincerity in helping clients solve life challenges, make him trustworthy in the therapeutic relationship. 

Julius Benford was born and raised in Denver, CO. He attended Bethune-Cookman College where he pursued a degree in Education before ultimately completing his Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Pfeiffer University.  Julius has spent his career largely working with children in the Education System. It is this experience that helped him to identify an interest in becoming a Therapist. Julius is currently working on his MS in Clinical Mental Health with a targeted graduation in Spring 2022. His practicing methodologies for counseling are: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness Counseling and Motivational Interviewing. His focus is on family therapy and adolescents
